Born of the countless, tumultuous and unlawful love affairs that jazz had with all the music in the world … Bastard music as a manifesto, the lyrical as a common denominator, the interlaced interplay as the starting point.
Laughing Bastards stands for the alchemy between the youngest generation from the b(l)ooming Ghent jazz and impro scene, and the experience and hunger for innovation of an old hand in the profession. Not only they proclaim their love for the Jazz tradition, together they bring a new sound to the world with original compositions.
Our latest album FETISH is released on the 19th of April 2024, as a co-production between W.E.R.F. records (Belgium) and BMC Records (Hungary).
It is available on CD and vinyl and digitally released on all platforms.
After playing a successful tour, we are happy to present this album the 11th of July at GENT JAZZ festival.
